HCNA History

Established in 1972 then amalgamated in 2018, the Hoppers Crossing Netball Association Inc. (HCNA), formally the Hoppers Crossing Junior Netball Association Inc. (HCJNA) has played a major role in offering the sport of Netball to many young people in the Hoppers Crossing and Wyndham community.

We began with only four (4) teams of U10s, over forty years ago, but have grown to encompass over thirty-five teams today. This means we have over 350 children involved in competition held at the Mossfiel reserve courts every Saturday. We now boast teams in U21s; U17s; U15s; U13s; U11s; Junior Development & NetSetGO. Once you add family; friends; coaches and supporters, there are well over 1,000 people attending the courts over a five (5) hour period on Saturdays.

The HCNA also runs our own annual tournament, attracting teams from all over Victoria. We send our representative squads to various tournaments around the state including Maryborough; Castlemaine; Gisborne; Sunbury; Geelong and Doncaster to name a few.

The Committee is aware of the mounting pressures on our sport to retain interest in Netball especially with the many various other sports and pastimes available to children. The HCNA believe that with a fun; family orientated professional approach to the game and to the administration of the Association, we can continue to provide a safe; enjoyable atmosphere for children to participate in the sport of Netball, whilst also offering all the community benefits that a successful sporting association can provide.
